Delete Your Account
Tal3ni — io.github.tal3ni.app
You can delete your Tal3ni account and everything attached to it at any time. There is no grace period and no hidden copy: deletion is immediate and permanent.
1. Delete from inside the App
This is the fastest route and takes effect the moment you confirm.
- Open Tal3ni and go to the Profile tab
- Tap Edit Profile
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account
- Confirm when asked
You are signed out straight away and your data is gone before the screen closes.
2. Request deletion without the App
If you have uninstalled Tal3ni, or cannot sign in, you do not need to reinstall it. Email noreply.tal3ni@gmail.com with the subject Delete my account and include the phone number you registered with.
Because a Tal3ni account is identified only by its phone number, we have to confirm the number is yours before we erase anything — otherwise this page would be a way to delete a stranger's account. We reply with a short code sent over WhatsApp to that number; send it back and the deletion runs.
- We respond to deletion requests within 7 days
- Once the number is confirmed, deletion is completed within 30 days, and in practice immediately
- There is no charge, and you do not have to give a reason
3. What is deleted
All of the following are erased permanently:
- Your profile — name, phone number and profile photo
- The profile photo file itself, removed from our storage
- Every vehicle you registered, which releases those plates for another user to register
- Your vehicle verification history
- Your search history — every plate you looked up
- Any sign-in code still outstanding for your number
- The account itself, so the phone number is no longer known to us as a user
4. What is kept, and why
One record survives account deletion, and it is not linked to your account:
- Sign-in code requests — the phone number and the time of each request, held in an abuse log. Without it, anyone could reset the daily limit on sign-in codes simply by deleting and recreating an account, and use Tal3ni to send repeated WhatsApp messages to a stranger's phone. It contains no name, no vehicle and no search history.
Nothing else is retained. Vehicle licence and number-plate photographs are never stored in the first place — they are read once during registration and discarded, as described in the Privacy Policy.
